Gallery

An experimental, eclectic body of work where each technique and medium scratches an itch in a different part of my brain.

Collage

These collages generally start out as a drawing, but quickly take on a life of their own as I build up layers of pieces cut out of magazines. The drawings are black and white, so the color palette evolves with the rest of the image. The process is heavily improvisational and I favor keeping the words, symbols, and objects I cut from magazines as identifiable as possible (I only use non-human elements - the weirder and more out-of-place the better).

Linocut

I've really been leaning into my Pop Art influences with these. There's a certain irreverence that I think is part of the DNA of this approach that can make Pop Art style work seem kind of unserious (or even transgressive). I think, though, that Pop Art is an aesthetic based on tensions and I'm finding surprising depth in exploring these subjects from this perspective.
